SAFETY PRACTICES

Sweetens Concrete Services understands the importance of safety and strives to ensure a safe work environment. Our goal is that all employees get home to their family and loved ones safely every day. Our safety program includes (but is not limited to):

  • 10-hour general construction OSHA requirement
  • Weekly electronic tailored toolbox talks
  • Safety manual for all employees
  • Monitored motor vehicle driving records
  • Suspicious behavior training
  • SMITH driving training
  • Fleet management with monitored safety scores

Sweetens Concrete top 10 Safety Hazards

  1. Proper PPE always on jobsite:
    1. Hard Hat
    2. Gloves
    3. Earplugs
    4. Safety Vest
    5. Safety Glasses
  2. No use of cell phones or headphones while on the jobsite
  3. Never ride on the back of a tar pot, on trailer bed, in a skid steer bucket or on the back of a truck bed
  4. Always place caps on exposed rebar
  5. Clean all concrete off your person immediately to prevent burns
  6. Ensure trucks are clear of debris and that loose items are secured
  7. Clean jobsite of all trash and potential hazards
  8. Install and maintain all traffic control devices
  9. Clear all utilities that have been marked by USIC
  10. Only approved drivers are to operate company vehicles
